Team Tasha and Harry
Tasha almost got her start in 2004 but we were going out of town the day Dockdogs was at the Oyster Festival so she got her start in 2005. A lot of big name dogs were just starting out such as Country and we have seen the sport grow. We moved to MD and tried Dockdogs again at the Frederick event in 2006 and she refused to jump. We were encourage by another Dockdogger Brian to join him and his dog Mishka at Chesapeake and after a day of practice Tasha got her first jump in the last wave of the day.

Tasha also went to hamburg the following friday and got one more Novice jump and the season was over.

2007

2007 dawned and our first event was Pawsabilities in Harrisburg PA.

We traveled to a lot of events and finished the year at nationals and finished 4th in the Veteran final and 5th overall in the final rankings of Veteran dogs.

2008

The Dockdogs year starts right after Nationals.

Waterfowl Festival- Easton MD  November 2008. We had no way of knowing this would be tasha's first event and her last of 2008. As mentioned elsewhere in her biography Tasha was diagnosed with bone cancer in her right front leg. Other than spotting it on an xray you would never know she had a tumor, a slight deformity was spotted by the vet. Tasha never limped but it was felt taking her off the dock was the best thing to do. We attended several events where neither dog competed to be around friends. In early July it was time as she started to limp and show signs of dicomfort so in the middle of July Tasha had the limb amputated.

Tasha has been a trooper and we thank those behind the scenes who kept our spirits up over the last few months.

Fast forward to August 2008

West Virginia State Fair Wknd 1 August 8th thru 10th 2008

Tasha made her triumphant return to the dock.

Tasha did a Junior jump but due to her title at the time we had to accept a particopant ribbon. I am so proud of this dog. She made the amatuer final and came in 4th and was just edged out by her brother Harry. This was the first event and hopefully not the last where I jumped two dogs in the finals, thanks for all the help by Bill and Shawn of the Buckeye Club (our other club).

Upcoming events:

Waterfowl Festival- Dover Delware  August 23rd and 24th
Tasha will likely jump on Sunday.

Wine and Koi Festival- Adamstown MD  August 30th and Sept 1st
Tasha's first club event with the Chesapeake Club since Suffolk VA almost a year ago. I have her registered to jump on Sunday.

Great Outdoor Adventure- Nelsonville, Ohio  Sept 26th to Sept 28th
Tasha is entered in one wave on Saturday and one on Sunday. This may or may not be our last national event of the year as we do not have the time or the funds to go to nationals.

Nationals-  Richfield, WI  October 2008
We would like to go and if we do Tasha will only be entered in the Veteran Division.

2009

We hope Tasha continues to jump at least once at an event and she will continue to fund raise.
